The Department of Social Services and Health at Helsinki Vocational College moved to a new location in Vallila, Helsinki. The facilities on Hattulantie include study and management spaces on five floors. Our task was to design the school’s teaching and management facilities to meet present-day requirements, but also by making use of existing furniture. In addition to normal working tables, standing tables and relaxed seats were added to the study rooms. Some of the classrooms were also designed with completely new interior. The design of curtains and signs was also a part of the project.
Hattulantie’s facility got a completely new visual look. Graphic designer Severi Romsi designed colorful and playful dots for signs and design tapes on the hallways. Each floor has its own color theme that is repeated in both graphic elements and interior design.
