
Pupils from Strömborgsk Unified School were able to start their studies at their new school in early 2020. Teachers and students were closely involved in the design of the facilities. In the joint workshops of Sistem and the students, a common theme running through the whole school emerged. The Porvoonjoki and river valley serve as inspiration, which is reflected in the interior design of the school in the world of colors, furniture and atmosphere.
The school was started on a completely new footing in adaptable learning environments that allow for different learning styles. The school utilizes open learning environments, traditional classrooms, and small and even smaller spaces. All spaces in a building divided into smaller cells are learning spaces, and
We also designed a number of special pieces of furniture for the premises, which form comfortable sofas for the common spaces, the reading corners of the library and seating groups for the lobby spaces.
